Brooks is a distinguished pioneer in the Cloud and AI industry, credited with the development and productization of one of the first Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions, dating back to 2009. Today, he is the CEO of Pythian, a leading data analytics and AI company. Brooks is also recognized for leading three successful transactions, including the sale of NaviSite to Time Warner Cable in 2011, Datto to Vista Equity Partners in 2017, and most recently Cloudreach to Atos in 2022. His overall enterprise technology career spans more than three decades playing key roles with market-leading firms including Accenture, Cisco, and Avaya, as well as his leadership of five Private Equity backed growth companies.
Outside of work, Brooks’ main occupation is chasing his three children around youth sailing regattas. He also enjoys competing in nearly any team sport activity, particularly when his team is victorious. Brooks is well known for his excessively dry wit, vastly exaggerated juggling skills, and professed knowledge of music from the 1980s. One surprising fact is that Brooks lived and worked in Paris for eight years, but his limited linguistic skills hindered his ability to pick up the French language, which he considers particularly embarrassing (and remains a sensitive topic of conversation).
